A two-meter shark giving birth on the shore was discovered on the Kuril Islands

A two-meter shark was found off the coast of one of the Kuril Islands, reports the REN TV Telegram channel.

Reportedly, the shark was found on the coast of the Tofitsky roadstead, after which specialists from the local reserve went to the place of the find.

According to the deputy director for scientific work of the Kurilsky Nature Reserve, Elena Linnik, most likely, after the birth, the sharks were washed out to sea, and the shark remained on the shore.

Earlier, Sergei Mukhametov, a senior lecturer at the Department of Oceanology, Faculty of Geography, Moscow State University, said that the chances of dying from a shark attack in Russia are minimal; there is a greater chance of dying from a mosquito bite. He noted that every year about 10 people die from shark attacks around the world. At the same time, there are sharks on the Russian sea coasts, but they are not so dangerous, and the most that she can do is bite off a finger. “And only if you stick that finger in her mouth,” said the expert. According to him, in the summer sharks can also approach the shore in the Vladivostok area.

On June 8 last year, the Russian Consulate General in Hurghada reported a shark attack on a Russian citizen in the Dream Beach area. It was reported that he died.
