Support for the Future: Full-time students from 20 Russian cities will be able to participate in the scholarship program

The best minds will be able to receive not only additional funding, but also an internship at En+

Supporting the future generation of highly qualified specialists is a task that not only the state, but also business is occupied with. Programs of free courses and financial assistance for students are being created in the country. Oleg Deripaska, a public figure and the founder of the EN+ energy and metallurgical holding, has repeatedly spoken about the need to develop high-quality education, as well as comfortable conditions for studying in Russia. According to him, this is the only way to provide the country with competitive specialists in the long term.

Following these principles, En+ has been implementing a number of social programs aimed at supporting and additional training of the younger generation for many years.

So, on June 13, the company launched the third stream of its own scholarship program, the company’s press service reported.

This year, 56 educational institutions from 20 Russian cities are participating in the project. 150 students who are studying in the areas of energy and metallurgy, as well as medicine and pedagogy will be able to receive a scholarship. A total of 55 metallurgists, 35 power engineers, 20 teachers and 40 doctors will be selected.

Full-time students enrolled in 2-6 courses at higher and secondary vocational schools can apply for a scholarship. The selection criteria for scholarship holders remained the same as in the previous streams: the student must have high academic performance, experience in participation in competitions or volunteer movements, conduct scientific and creative activities. The more achievements, the higher the chance of winning.

“Our scholarship program provides an opportunity not only to receive additional funding, but also to immediately get into the world of industry and energy – the best students will be able to participate in our internships, and then come to work with us. Having expanded the program with non-core areas for En+ – pedagogy and medicine, we hope to strengthen the human resources potential in the social sphere of the holding’s regions of responsibility,” said Mikhail Khardikov, head of the En+ energy business.

He added that the scholarship will be paid monthly during the 2023-2024 academic year. Its size will depend on the level of education received (higher or secondary specialized), as well as the course of study. For example, a scholarship for a 3rd year college student will be 10,000 rubles a month, and a 5th year student at a university will be 25,000 rubles a month. In addition to scholarships, additional support measures are provided for program participants, including participation in professional conferences, an annual subscription to a specialized electronic library, internships and excursions to En+ and RUSAL enterprises.

According to the results of the program of the previous academic year, 15% of the participants have already become employees of the company, and another half of the students plan to find employment after graduation.

The project covers dozens of cities: Irkutsk, Bratsk, St. Petersburg, Taishet, Krasnoyarsk, Achinsk, Divnogorsk, Sayanogorsk, Abakan, Novokuznetsk, Yekaterinburg, Kamensk-Uralsky, Krasnoturinsk, Severouralsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Miass, Volgograd, Tikhvin, Ivanovo and Nazarovo. Among the educational institutions participating are the leading universities of the country, specialized energy, metallurgical, medical, pedagogical universities and institutions of secondary vocational education.

To participate in the competitive selection, a student must register on the career.enplusrusal.ru portal and submit an application before July 16, 2023.
