Nikita Chaplin, chairman of the Union of Summer Residents of the Moscow Region, explained to gardeners how to sell crops from their own garden in order not to run into a fine. According to the expert, vegetables and berries should be traded either at social fairs or at agricultural markets. If you hang ads on the fence or sit on stools near railway and bus stations, you can end up spending your proceeds on fines.
– Summer residents have the right to trade in crop products and products of their processing (from jam to canned food), – says Chaplin. – However, this should be done in specially designated places, that is, in retail space, paying rent for them. But next to the roadway, you can’t trade crops. It is also forbidden at metro stations, in transport and near administrative buildings. Those who break the rules will be fined from 500 to 2500 rubles.
Where, then, is it possible, if it is inconvenient for you to go to the fair? You can sell your own products by agreement to friends and acquaintances, you can advertise on various online platforms or post on social networks. The main thing is not to arrange your own outlet. Such may well recognize your stool by the road.
There are no restrictions on the volume of production in the law. The dacha resident can sell as much of the harvest as he collects.
At the same time, it is impossible to sell products that have not been washed from the ground, with a foreign smell, rotten and frozen.
Speaking about taxes on the sale of crops, Chaplin noted that they can not be paid, but subject to certain conditions. To do this, the area of the summer cottage should not exceed 50 acres, and vegetables and fruits should be grown on their own, without the participation of hired workers.
