The ski and biathlon complex “Triumph” hosted summer adult and children’s races with obstacles “Pride Race”. More than 500 islanders aged 3 years and older took part in them, the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region reported.
The youngest athletes competed with their parents. They had to overcome a 500-meter obstacle course with balance, speed and endurance tests.
Children aged 6 to 14 had to overcome more than 15 obstacles at a distance of 1000 to 1500 meters. Hand walkers, various carriers, walls, ramps and much more were waiting for them. Participants aged 16 and over tested their strength on a 5000 meter track with 25 obstacles.
The competitions were held in individual and team competitions, as well as in the Championship format for trained athletes, and Open for everyone who wants to try their hand at the strip.
At a distance of 1000 meters, Timur Murga and Alisa Borodina became the winners. Daniel Tafa and Valeria Ovchinnikova took gold in the age category “9-11 years” at a distance of one and a half kilometers. On the same track, among athletes aged 12 to 14, Ivan Stalnoy and Anna Kustova showed the best result.
At a distance of 5000 meters in the individual competition, Yuri Lagun won the first place. Among the teams, the best result was shown by Rocker Mice from Mars, consisting of Alexander Reshetov, Nikolai Voitekhovich, Viktor Usov, Anton Snopkov, Ksenia Nizhegorodova.
Athletes at the finish line were awarded unique finisher medals, certificates of participation and gifts from event partners. In September there will be a new obstacle race and the season close.
