Students from MarSU are winners of the Student Sports Festival among foreigners

From May 11 to May 14 at the Mordovian State University. N.P. Ogaryov, competitions were held among foreign students in three sports disciplines.

These are 3v3 basketball, badminton and cricket. Students of five universities of the Volga Federal District took part in them: PSU, UlGU, MarSU, Moscow State Pedagogical University. N.P. Evseviev and Moscow State University. N.P. Ogaryov.

The festival of student sports of the Volga Federal District was held as part of the implementation of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life.” One of the priorities of the festival was the adaptation of foreign students and the creation of conditions for the successful realization of their sports potential.





For three days, foreigners competed in three disciplines. And if basketball and badminton are a classic game for representatives of many countries, then cricket is a traditional game for Indians.

At Moscow State University N.P. Ogareva is the largest diaspora of foreign students, so much attention is paid to this particular sport.

For the cricket competition of Moscow State University. N.P. Ogaryova presented one of the first professional fields in Russia: it has an elliptical shape and is covered with grass.





In the center is a pitch – a 2 by 30 area – the main area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe game. At both ends of the strip there are gates – three crossbars driven into the ground, on which two loose crossbars are installed. The field is divided into two parts by a line connecting the wickets.

Places in the competition were distributed as follows: students of Penza State University became the winners in cricket, the second place was won by Ulyanovsk State University, and the third place was taken by Mari State University.

In 3v3 basketball, the team of the Mordovian State University named after M.V. N.P. Ogaryov, students of the Penza State University became the silver medalists, and students of the Mordovian State Pedagogical University named after M. M.E. Evsevyeva.





In badminton competitions, two teams from Ogaryov turned out to be the best at once – they took the first and second places, and the students of the Mari State University took the third.

Ranjan Pratap Singh, a student at the Medical Institute, a member of the Mari State University team, shares his impressions:
