In the capital, fraudsters using forged documents for several years in a row ordered detailing of telephone calls from Muscovites in communication salons. Investigators detained swindlers – they turned out to be 20-year-old students.
As it became known to MK, a guy and a girl came to mobile phone shops with fake notarized powers of attorney and ordered a report on calls and SMS. It turned out that the young people were hired by a 32-year-old man who promised them an easy part-time job. The stranger explained that allegedly the person was missing, and detailing is needed to find out where he is now. He sent fake powers of attorney in electronic form, which the students printed out. In the communication salon, young people took pictures of the data and sent it to the coordinator. For each trip to the telecom operator, students received 3 thousand rubles.
In fact, everything was in order with the subscribers, they did not even suspect that scammers were receiving confidential information on their behalf. One of the victims, a fire safety specialist from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, found out that someone was looking into his data at the beginning of 2021. Someone topped up the man’s phone account with 3,000 rubles, and then they ordered the details of calls for three months with this money. What the scammers wanted to find out – the specialist is at a loss, because no financial transactions and secret information pass through him.
In February of this year, the Mytishchi City Court convicted the coordinator and students on similar episodes – for violating the secrecy of correspondence, telephone conversations and for the production and circulation of forged documents. The students received suspended sentences of 2 years. Now, in connection with the new episode, a criminal case has been initiated under the same articles.
