Ministry of Justice of Finland: Haavisto and Stubb reached the second round of presidential elections

According to the Ministry of Justice of Finland, after all the votes are counted, former head of the Finnish Foreign Ministry Pekka Haavisto and ex-Prime Minister Alexander Stubb will advance to the second round of the country’s presidential elections.

It is clarified that Haavisto received 25.8% of the votes, and Stubb – 27.2%. The second round of the Finnish presidential election will take place on February 11, as no candidate received the support of more than half of the voters.

Let us note that last Sunday presidential elections were held in Finland. Early voting took place from January 17 to 13. The turnout was 79.4%.

According to representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the official results of the first round will be announced no later than January 30.
