Police officers are looking into the circumstances surrounding the mysterious burial of a Muscovite woman without the knowledge of her relatives.
As MK learned, on November 30, a 32-year-old resident of Kursk filed a complaint. He stated that the day before he learned about the death of his aunt, who lived on Novatorov Street. The concierge informed him about the sad event. She said that she received benefits from the social security department for the funeral of the pensioner. It turns out that the woman was hospitalized with a stroke on October 16, where she died a day later. But the doctors were unable to immediately contact the relatives. Only after some time a pipe burst in the entrance, housing office employees opened the apartment, and the district police officer contacted the relatives of the deceased woman. Relatives arrived in Moscow and found out that the body of the pensioner was taken from the morgue by a funeral agent and a certain person who introduced herself as the daughter of the deceased. The deceased was cremated. Relatives of the deceased say that they do not know the woman who took upon herself the hassle of organizing the funeral. It is noteworthy that the “daughter” does not know the deceased and did not take the deceased’s body from the morgue. But her elderly relative also died in early October and was cremated. When completing all the procedures, she provided her documents, and it looks very likely that someone used her passport. An investigation has been launched into this fact. The meaning of the scam is not yet entirely clear. The pensioner bequeathed a two-room apartment to her nephew. So the scammers had no chance to take possession of the living space.
