NATO sees “some successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kherson and Kharkov”, but calls “not to be mistaken” and prepare for a “long war”. Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, announced this during a press conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The NATO Secretary General also called for the Ukrainian troops to be provided with tens of thousands of winter uniforms.
“We see some successes of the Ukrainian army near Kherson and Kharkov, but it is important not to be mistaken and prepare for a long war. The size of the Ukrainian army has grown and it is necessary to ensure its preparation for the winter, including sending it tens of thousands of sets of winter uniforms,” Stoltenberg said.
In addition, he called on NATO member countries not to stop supplying weapons and military equipment to Kyiv, because he considers the conflict in Ukraine to be an element of ensuring their own security.
Stoltenberg also said that if Russia wins the special operation, it will be “bad not only for Ukraine, but also dangerous for all” countries of the alliance.
