NATO will deploy additional forces on the eastern border and sends a clear message to Russia on this matter, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference following a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Brussels.
“We are significantly strengthening our presence in the eastern part of the alliance. At the same time, we are sending a clear signal to Moscow that NATO will defend every inch of Allied territory,” said the Secretary General (quote according to TASS).
At the end of August, it became known that the US Air Force had already marked 12 fifth-generation F-22 Raptor fighters in Poland to increase the defense capability of the region and strengthen the NATO mission. The F-22 Raptor has never been sold to any other country. Only 180 of them were produced. Their primary task is to gain and maintain control over enemy airspace.
On August 4, the US and Poland concluded talks on enhanced defense cooperation. According to the new agreement, another 1,000 American troops will be stationed in Poland. US troops numbering 4,500 have already been stationed in Poland on a rotational basis.
