A Petersburger who stole the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in a church in the Leningrad region told the police that she was going to “pray at home.” The remains are expected to be returned to the temple soon. This is reported by the Telegram channel “Rise”.
The theft was recorded by the church’s security cameras. “… a man was hiding behind a column, waiting for the right moment. It was a woman. There was someone else in the car, but who is still unknown…”, – commented on the situation in the temple.
The attacker was later arrested by the police. According to the suspect, she planned to pray at home. The relics were found in her apartment.
Previously became knownthat in Kirovsk, a 69-year-old woman took by car part of the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker from the Church of the Beheading of John the Baptist.
The church stressed that they did not expect this from the visitor and called theft unforgivable not only in the place of worship, but also in Pyaterochka.
