A group of rescuers from Stavropol made an ascent to the top of Mount Kazbek, timed to coincide with the 245th anniversary of the city. The expedition members climbed to a height of more than five thousand meters above sea level, according to Wednesday, September 21, the press service of the administration of Stavropol.
The mayor’s office said that during the celebration of the anniversary of the regional center, Stavropol rescuers climbed Kazbek, the northern part of which is located in North Ossetia, on the Russian-Georgian border.
This year, the Stavropol city rescue service itself turned 24 years old. Its specialists practice tourist mountaineering on a regular basis, participating, among other things, in patriotic actions.
