On the territory of the Republic of Yakutia, due to forest fires, an emergency situation (ES) regime has been introduced. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of the region, Aisen Nikolaev, following a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations to combat forest fires. Currently, 110 fires have been recorded in Yakutia.

“In recent days, there has been intense heat, thunderstorm activity has intensified, which has become the reason for the complication of the situation. In total, today there are 110 forest fires in the republic on a total area of ​​61,164 hectares. The most difficult situation is in the Ust-Maisky, Oymyakonsky and Aldan regions. In this regard, today I signed a decree on the introduction of a state of emergency on the territory of the republic,” wrote Aisen Nikolaev in Telegram.

Following the meeting of the CoES, Mr. Nikolaev instructed to constantly monitor the occurrence of forest fires. Immediately begin to eliminate fires by the forces of voluntary squads and forest fire formations in transport-accessible places.

The head of Yakutia also stressed the need to intensify work to involve local residents in extinguishing fires. “We see a positive experience in the Olekminsky district, where residents are actively involved in identifying and extinguishing forest fires. I express my deep gratitude to them,” added Mr. Nikolaev. He also instructed to make a decision on the introduction of a state of emergency in the Oymyakon and Aldan regions.

On June 28, the government of Yakutia introduced a state of emergency in the Ust-Maisky region due to three natural fires in remote areas. Forecasters warnedthat in the coming days there will be an emergency level of fire danger in the region. A storm warning is also in effect in a number of regions of Yakutia. According to the Hydrometeorological Center, in Yakutia in July, the average monthly temperature can turn out to be above the norm. A similar forecast is valid for the western part of the Urals, the east of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Primorsky Territory.
