State of emergency declared in Ryazan region due to fires

The Acting Governor of the Ryazan Region, Pavel Malkov, announced the introduction of a state of emergency throughout the region in connection with fires. Previously, the state of emergency operated only in three districts of the region: Ryazan, Spassky and Klepikovo. According to Avialesookhrana, at the moment the area of fires in the region is 8-9 thousand hectares.
“In order to apply additional measures to protect residents and territories, I decided to introduce an emergency regime in the Ryazan region,” Mr. Malkov wrote in Telegram channel.
According to Pavel Malkov, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Federal Forestry Agency are involved in extinguishing fires. At the request of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the authorities of the Ryazan region, the group of rescuers was increased to almost 9 thousand people.
Formerly Ministry of Emergency Situations attracted to extinguish fires in the Ryazan region rescuers and equipment from five regions. On August 21, two settlements were evacuated.
Now 100 natural fires operate in 18 regions of Russia. Difficult situation with fires in the Nizhny Novgorod region and in the Republic of Mari El. In Ugra, the area of fires has increased six times over the past day.
