The head of Chuvashia, Nikolaev, introduced an emergency mode in the republic due to soil drought
In Chuvashia, from July 14 until further notice, a state of emergency was introduced, the head of the region, Oleg Nikolaev, said on Telegram.
According to him, the state of emergency was introduced in connection with a dangerous agrometeorological phenomenon – soil drought.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the republic was instructed to develop a plan to minimize damage.
Nikolaev noted that for three decades in a row (June 8, 18, 20) the reserve of productive moisture in the arable soil layer during the growing season was less than 10 mm.
According to preliminary data, crops on an area of 4.1 thousand hectares were damaged, the amount of damage was more than 211 million rubles.
Earlier, the state of emergency for the same reason was introduced in four municipal districts of Chuvashia: Kanashsky, Urmarsky, Kozlovsky and Yantikovsky.
