State Duma to discuss Prigozhin’s proposal to ban officials from leaving Russia

The head of the State Duma Security Committee, Vasily Piskarev, called noteworthy the initiative of businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin to impose restrictions on deputies and officials to travel abroad during the special operation and to strengthen control over their ethical behavior.
“We will discuss the expediency of making appropriate changes to the legislation with colleagues from other relevant committees,” Piskarev said.
The MP added that the discussion will take place in the near future.
At the same time, he recalled that, at the initiative of the Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, the requirement for deputies to notify and justify the need to travel outside the Russian Federation has already been introduced into the regulations. In this regard, he noted that in relation to state and municipal employees, this issue can also be resolved at the departmental level. According to Piskarev, there has been a restriction on travel to unfriendly countries for law enforcement officers for several years now.
