Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, deputy of the State Duma of Russia Leonid Slutsky proposed to compensate 50% of the costs of heating houses for combat veterans.
He developed and submitted for approval to the government of the Russian Federation a bill establishing a discount on the payment for fuel – coal, firewood and liquefied gas in cylinders. It is proposed to make changes to the law “On Veterans”.
In conversation with TASS Slutsky said that in the context of a special operation, the state must take care of combat veterans and it is necessary to prepare a decent standard of living for the participants of the North Military District. The State Duma deputy noted that the initiative will affect those who live in their own houses in rural areas where there is no central heating.
“For those who live in an apartment building, support measures have already been introduced, the situation needs to be balanced,” added Slutsky.
Currently, combat veterans can receive various support measures, including compensation for housing costs in the amount of 50% of the fee for maintaining the premises and routine repairs of common property in the house and others.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law allowing social entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized businesses to receive government support for the employment of demobilized participants in the special operation.
