Gorelkin explained that the share of YouTube traffic varies from 30 to 50%. Moreover, all operators have options for a monthly fee of 100-200 rubles. make YouTube viewing unlimited.
“I don’t think that the FAS will be against the joint decision of market participants to eliminate this option and count traffic from YouTube on equal terms with Russian services,” the deputy concluded.
In the summer, Gorelkin noted that although the American video hosting site is “hostile” towards Russia, it currently has no alternative and blocking it is impossible. In September, he said that Russia needs to develop its own projects before blocking American video hosting. On November 2, Tele2 analysts reported that the Rutube video platform increased the number of users by 53.7%. The platform was in first place in terms of audience growth due to the “migration” of Russian bloggers from YouTube.
