State Duma deputy Morozov suggested naming schools after Russian fighters of the Northern Military District

The names of the heroes of the special military operation (SVO) of Russia in Ukraine can be assigned to some schools, libraries and houses of culture. This suggestion was made in an interview with URA.RU Sergei Morozov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government.

The parliamentarian pointed out that in Russia there are few schools, libraries, houses of culture and hospitals that are named after someone. Basically, these public institutions have only serial numbers: school No. 31, library No. 6 … “Why not name them after a young man or not a very young man, but who is an example for us? Morozov asked. – I was born in the city of Ulyanovsk and went to school number 31, which was named after the Heroes of Svir. These are the boys who, during the Great Patriotic War, showed miracles of the heroism of the Soviet soldier. We have the same”. The State Duma deputy added that even today there are examples of courage and courage in the conditions of hostilities. Miracles of heroism are shown by soldiers fighting in the Donbass and, in general, “on the fronts with the Ukrainian Nazis.”

According to the parliamentarian, new streets in blocks with new buildings can also be named after the heroes of the special operation. The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government pointed out that the government sets ambitious goals: ministers and deputy prime ministers report a record delivery of housing in 2022-2023. “And if so, then God himself ordered us not to call the new streets with an indefinite name: Lilac, Crystal, Violet, but to call the names of people,” Morozov explained. – I’m more of a supporter of building the next cities, microdistricts, some lanes, naming them after people from whom you can take an example. Instead of renaming, for example, the already existing Kirov Street into someone else’s street.”

As before informed “MK”, ​​in December 2022, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that during the special military operation in Ukraine, 120 military personnel became Heroes of Russia, and in total more than 100 thousand people received state awards. He noted that Russian soldiers and officers in the course of hostilities show courage, steadfastness and selflessness. According to the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, more than 260,000 military personnel received combat experience during the NMD.
