On February 5, the Moscow International House of Music invites admirers of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra “Russian Philharmonic” to the world of the brightest emotions and fatal passions!

The combination of delightful music and colorful video that fills the entire space of the Svetlanov Hall will allow the audience to enjoy world-famous musical masterpieces.

In the large-scale video projections of Scheherazade, scenery and costume designs by L. Bakst, created by him for staging the ballet in the Russian Seasons in Paris, are used.

The enchanting oriental tale Scheherazade is one of Rimsky-Korsakov’s most famous instrumental works. The composer created a work of unparalleled beauty, filled with aromas of the starry Arabian night, dance rhythms of the East, pictures of the sea element and the magical atmosphere of boundless love. Sultan Shahriar, convinced of the deceit and infidelity of women, gave a vow to execute each of his wives after the first night, but the beautiful Scheherazade, balancing on the verge of love and death, told amazing tales to her formidable master for a thousand and one nights. Motivated by curiosity, Shahriar constantly postponed her execution and, finally, completely abandoned his intention, because he could no longer imagine his life without the beautiful Scheherazade.

“Polovtsian Dances”, one of the best scenes of the opera “Prince Igor” by Borodin, has gained immense popularity. A colorful festival with wild, temperamental dances and the most tender, lyrical songs always leaves an indelible impression on the audience.

The concert will take place in the Svetlanovsky Hall of the Moscow Museum of Music on February 5 at 15.00
