Deputy of the State Duma of Russia Sergey Kotkin appealed to the Ministry of Transport of Russia with a request to oblige Russian air carriers to print all tickets and boarding passes only in Russian. According to him, English terms scare passengers. This is reported “Kommersant”.
According to the publication, the parliamentarian told the transport department about a large number of complaints from passengers about the transportation documents of domestic flights, where the information is presented in a foreign language.
“This circumstance creates difficulties for citizens who do not speak English,” the State Duma deputy says in the text of the request.
According to the air carriers, it is impossible to set up printing in Cyrillic in the Saber and Amadeus booking systems, since in order to achieve this, it will be necessary to switch to domestic counterparts. At the same time, the carriers themselves stated that they had not received such complaints from passengers.
