The State Duma of Russia approved the idea of making December 31 an official holiday. Member of the State Duma Labor Committee Svetlana Bessarab supported this bill. This is reported URA.RU.
“We will not lose the total number of New Year’s days, which is important for children. This is the time when vacations and days off for parents coincide. In no case can you lose it, ”said the deputy.
According to her, previous initiatives did not suit the Duma. Then it was proposed to reduce the number of New Year holidays or take an extra day. As a result, the lower house of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation came to the conclusion that this is unacceptable because of the additional costs for employers.
