State borders disappeared from maps in Aviasales

In the map available in applications and on the website of the Aviasales service, state borders disappeared, Kommersant was convinced. As stated in Aviasales, the company has nothing to do with the removal of borders, mapping data for the service is provided by Mapbox.
“The specialization of the Aviasales service is not maps, but the search for cheap air tickets. Therefore, we use an external cartographic service,” the company’s press service told RIA Novosti.
Sample maps are available on the Mapbox website for companies to order from the vendor for inclusion on their properties. In one of the most popular options, Mapbox Light, there are state borders. Ukraine is displayed on it within its internationally recognized borders: with Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
In October 2022, Yandex removed regional and, subsequently, state borders from its Yandex.Maps service. In company explainedthat they decided to focus on “natural objects”. The removal of borders in the Yandex service took place a week after the announcement by the Russian leadership of the accession of new territories to the Russian Federation.
