“Start” will play the return match of the 1/4 finals against “Dynamo”

Hockey players from Nizhny Novgorod “Start” completed the regular championship of the Super League for the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod has shown average results for the last few years and could not get into the top 6 for 19 seasons, but during the current regular season everything has changed. Based on the results of 26 championship matches played, “Start” was able to score 39 points, which allowed them to settle in 6th place in the standings. The red-blues broke away from their rivals from Novosibirsk from 9th position by 12 points, and lost to hockey players from Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Moscow, Arkhangelsk and Kemerovo.

In the first match of the quarterfinal confrontation with Dynamo, the Start hockey players lost, but looked decent and retained their chances of reaching the next stage. The first match between Start and Dynamo ended with a score of 4:3 in favor of the blue and whites, which once again confirmed the fact that the Nizhny Novgorod team is having one of the best seasons in recent times. If “Start” gets relegated from “Dynamo”, then it definitely won’t be a disaster. The Nizhny Novgorod team has the potential to show excellent results next season in order to return to the ranks of the strongest representatives of Russian bandy.
