Start of the season: registration for the Olympiad “Conquer the Sparrow Hills!” open

Dear schoolchildren, we invite you to take part in the twentieth season of the famous Moskovsky Komsomolets Olympiad and M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. “Conquer the Sparrow Hills!” For many years it has been allowing talented schoolchildren to realize their ambitions and get a ticket to a bright future.

This year, the finals of the Olympiad will again be held in person. As a result, hundreds of participants will compete in one of the main temples of knowledge in Russia – Moscow State University and in a number of regional venues for the main prize. We publish information about awards and registration, the current schedule, a list of items, as well as other important information about the new PG season in our material.

How to register

To make the Olympiad as accessible as possible for all participants, we traditionally conduct the qualifying round remotely, in an online format. To participate in the selection, just fill out a form on the project website www.pvg.mk.ru. This year, registration for the first round started on December 1st.

Schoolchildren from Russia and other countries and students receiving secondary vocational education in the field of arts are invited to the qualifying round. We recommend that all schoolchildren carefully study the rules of the Olympiad and read the documents on the official website.

List of disciplines and opening tasks

The subjects for which PVG offers to solve tasks have not changed since last season. The Olympiad will be held in 8 disciplines: geography, journalism, foreign language, history, literature, mathematics, social studies and physics.

Participants can qualify for one or more subjects, but not more than one session for each. A foreign language involves choosing one of three languages: German, English or French. Qualifying stage of the Olympiad “Conquer the Sparrow Hills!” can be decided between December 8, 2023 and January 9, 2024. The tasks will be displayed after registration in the participants’ personal account on the PVG website.

First round results

Organizers of the Olympiad “Conquer the Sparrow Hills!” will publish the results of the qualifying stage on the website no later than March 1, 2024. In addition, grading criteria and correct answers to the proposed assignments will be published there.

The finalists of the first round will advance to the finals. There they will be able to compete for preferential admission to the best universities in our country in the budget department.
