“Start” begins its journey to the Super League playoffs

Hockey players from Nizhny Novgorod “Start” have finished playing in the regular championship of the Super League for the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod has shown weak results over the past few years and was among the outsiders, but as the 2023-2024 season progressed, Start changed and began to delight its fans. Based on the results of 26 matches played, “Start” scored 39 points, which allowed it to take 6th place in the standings, losing to rivals from Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Moscow, Arkhangelsk and Kemerovo.
In the first round of the Super League playoffs, Start went up against Dynamo Moscow, which settled in 3rd position at the end of the regular season. During the 2023-2024 season, the Nizhny Novgorod team met twice against Dynamo Moscow and always lost with the same score. In both matches, the blue and white turned out to be stronger than Start with a score of 8:4. Defeats during the regular season should benefit Start and increase Start’s chances of success.
Let us remind you that the first match of the 1/4 finals of the Super League between “Start” and “Dynamo” will take place on March 4. The meeting is scheduled to start at 18:30 Moscow time.
