Representatives of show business who left Russia and discredited the actions of the Russian army will be punished according to the law if they return, said Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin. He considers such celebrities unreliable.

Mr. Bastrykin is convinced that the position of such people “is connected with their desire to please the politics of the countries where they reside.” “But if one of them decides to return after a few years, they will have to answer for their actions according to the law,” he said in an interview with TASS.

The head of the Investigative Committee believes that show business stars are engaged in discrediting the Russian armed forces in order to continue their activities abroad and make a profit. “But, as you know, traitors are not welcome anywhere,” added Alexander Bastrykin.

Over two years, the Investigative Committee opened 303 cases of spreading fakes about the Russian army. February 14, President Vladimir Putin signed the law that allows confiscate property for crimes against the security of the country. Among other things, the measure can be applied for spreading fakes about the army. Bill contributed to the State Duma on January 22, the authors of the initiative were 395 deputies. Kremlin assuredthat this law is not similar to the seizure of property in the Soviet years.
