Starovoit awarded the man who saved people during the shelling of the Kursk region

The governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoit awarded the resident of the village of Glushkovo Ablaz Abdukadirov with the badge “For fidelity to duty and courage” for saving people in the village that came under fire, reported press service of the regional government.

Earlier, the authorities of the region reported that on June 18, Abdukadirov rescued seven residents from shelling, he took people to a safe place.

“On this day, there were many arrivals in the market area, several residents were hiding there and in a cafe. Abdulaziz Abdukadirov managed to take them to a safe place, and a few minutes later a shell flew to where they were hiding,” the government said.

The authorities of the Kursk region regularly report shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and attacks by drones. On June 18, as a result of the arrival of shells in the village of Glushkovo, two people were injured. In addition, houses and several shops in the market area were damaged. In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine then fired more than 16 shells at the settlement. On June 14, Starovoit said that border guards shot down a drone over the village of Glushkovo. According to him, the drone was intended to adjust the fire on the settlement. Then the head of the region reported on the victim as a result of the fall of the drone. The drone fell in the village on the territory of a private house.

In the Kursk region, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger is indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a “medium response level” has been established in the region. The same regime operates in seven other subjects of the Russian Federation – Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Belgorod, Voronezh, Bryansk and Rostov regions.
