St. Petersburg disagreed with Lukashenko over burning Belarusian buses

The press service of the Passazhiravtotrans enterprise denied the assumption of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko about the causes of a series of fires in MAZ buses in St. Petersburg, reports “Gazeta.Ru“.
Lukashenko claimed that the buses are serviced by “some private company” whose employees “have never seen the buses.”
“St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise Passazhiravtotrans is not a private company; it operates its rolling stock independently and according to regulations,” the company’s press service responded.
In August it was reported that Passazhiravtotrans recalled 137 buses produced by the Minsk Automobile Plant due to the risk of fire. After inspection, the buses were returned to the routes.
