Deputies of the Just Russia-Patriots-For Truth faction sent a bill to the government to abolish the transport tax for participants in the military operation in Ukraine for conclusion. If they have three or more minor children as dependents, they are also offered to be exempted from paying tax on cars and buses, regardless of engine power, TASS reports with reference to the document.
The explanatory note clarifies that such a benefit has already been established by several regions (in particular, in the Stavropol Territory), but it is not provided at the federal level. According to the draft law, participants in the military operation will be exempted from paying transport tax “in respect of cars with an engine power of up to 150 horsepower inclusive, motor boats with an engine power of up to 20 horsepower inclusive, motorcycles and scooters with an engine power of up to 35 horsepower inclusive.”
President Vladimir Putin in March 2022 signed the law on the recognition of participants in the military operation in Ukraine as combat veterans. This status implies social benefits and monthly payments to military personnel, they also count double retirement.
