The extensive sports program prepared in the capital for the City Day will not be limited to one day. Here are the biggest deals.
The main events will unfold on September 11 at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, where the city’s Department of Sports is holding the Sports EXPO exhibition. The presentation of the projects “My sports district”, “Show in 60 seconds”, “Sports weekend” is planned, a street sports festival will be held. Olympic champions Alexei Nemov and Adelina Sotnikova, Guinness World Record holder Viktor Filippov and other famous people will take part in these events.
On September 10 and 11, VDNKh is waiting for fans of extreme sports at the final stage of the Grand Skate Tour international festival. Five thousand athletes are registered, representing 30 regions of Russia and 28 countries of the world. The prize fund will be raffled off in skateboarding in the “street” discipline, in the Game of Skate discipline and in longboarding in the “dance” discipline.
On September 10 and 11, the Park of the Center for Technical Sports “Moscow” will become the site of the festival, which is held annually. By tradition, the program includes competitions in autocross, auto all-around, karting, drifting, but enduro competitions will be held here for the first time. Demonstrations are also planned. The festival will be attended by Russian ex-Formula 1 pilot Sergey Sirotkin, five-time winner of the Dakar rally Eduard Nikolaev and other stars from technical sports.
