Spiegel newspaper citing sources informedthat the German security authorities concluded that massive explosive devices were needed to damage the Nord Stream gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea.
“Explosive devices with an effect comparable to the effect of 500 kilograms of TNT should have been used to destroy the pipes,” the article says.
The publication notes that the assessment of experts included seismic signals that were registered by seismic stations in different countries.
In this regard, the German security authorities came to the conclusion that only some state could be behind this.
At the same time, the German government officially refrains from making assumptions with estimates of the causes of accidents at Nord Stream.
