Spiegel: A scandal with von der Leyen has erupted in Europe

German edition Spiegel reported that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, staged a skirmish in absentia over the struggle for power in the European Union and the Ukrainian conflict.
It is clarified that earlier Charles Michel, in a conversation with the magazine, criticized the foreign policy initiatives of Ursula von der Leyen.
“Representatives of the European Commission, in turn, reacted angrily to these statements. Among other things, the EC is irritated by reports of Ukraine’s imminent accession,” the publication noted.
There have already been power struggles between Michel and von der Leyen in the past. The conflict gradually gained momentum, especially in matters related to foreign policy.
