On Saturday, February 18, it was hot in Petrozavodsk at the Leonid Lenin Boxing House: a spectacular boxing tournament “Karjalan Maa” was held there, a match meeting for the prizes of IBA President Umar Kremlev among senior boys born in 2007-2008.
The sports event was organized by the Seyd Boxing Club and the Sports Leaders state enterprise under the leadership of the World Boxing Champion Andrey Gogolev. In addition to participants from Petrozavodsk and regions of Karelia, athletes from the Leningrad and Nizhny Novgorod regions came to fight for the victory.
The tournament is annual and is held in the Karelian capital for the second time. The only change that is being made is the age of the participants: last year juniors and adults took part, and this year the Boxing House brought together older boys. One of the organizers of the tournament, Vladimir Myshkovets, noted that such changes give boxers of different age categories a chance to prove themselves.
He also clarified that the tournament is dedicated to Umar Kremlev not by chance, because the President of the IBA has done a lot for the development of boxing in Russia and in the world. In particular, thanks to him, Russian boxers can now compete in all international competitions under the Russian flag and anthem.
We were personally convinced of the professional skills of the athletes: we visited the tournament and caught the brightest moments in the frame!
