Velsk hosted the regional Olympics of the Special Olympics of Russia in bocce, unified bocce and darts
Special Olympics Pomorye measured their strength in Velsk. Athletes from Arkhangelsk, Nyandoma, Koryazhma and the Velsky district took part in the competition – a total of seven teams and 32 special Olympic athletes.
The tournament was held in several stages. Athletes passed the qualification, according to the results of which they were divided into two divisions, after which they competed for medals.
Sofia Molchanova and Olga Afanasyeva from Velskaya SKOSHI-1 won among girls in doubles in boccia division “A”, among boys – Ivan Kopyshov and Viktor Semushin from Velskaya SKOSHI-2.
In division “B” the best were Yulia Barandova and Oksana Dmitrieva from the Velsky PNI, as well as Daniil Druzhinin and Andrey Yagovets from the Arkhangelsk SKOSHI No. 31.
In the unified bocce among girls, the first place was taken by the tandem of Oksana Vlasova and Olga Afanasyeva, representing Velskaya SKOSHI-1. Among the young men, Andrey Belyaev and Danila Zanin, also from Velskaya SKOSHI, became the first.
In the team event, the gold medals in divisions “A” and “B” were won by the athletes of the Velsk SKOSHI.
In the darts competition, the best were Kristina Dubovikova, Viktor Semushin, Igor Popov and Nadezhda Shmakova, informs the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region.
