Spartak Moscow forward Quincy Promes was arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office. Dutch authorities are seeking his extradition.

“Thanks to the efforts of the authorities of the UAE and the Netherlands, a 32-year-old man living in Moscow was arrested in Dubai. The Netherlands has requested the man’s extradition. It is currently impossible to provide additional information as the investigation is ongoing,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement, as cited by the portal NU. The prosecutor’s office does not name the man, but the department’s press service, in response to a request, “Sport Express” confirmed that we are talking about Promes.

Prosecutors allege that under Promes’ leadership, more than 1,350 kilograms of cocaine were brought into the country. February 16th announced on the international wanted list.
