Spain will not send F-16 fighters to Ukraine, since Madrid does not have them, said the country’s Defense Minister Margarita Robles.
“We support Ukraine and will continue to support it, because we believe that we must remain a single entity. But Spain doesn’t have F-16s at the moment,” she told reporters in Brussels, as quoted on the EC website.
She also said that Madrid does not have the opportunity to train Ukrainian pilots, although Spain has already managed to train more than a thousand military and medical personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, the Politico newspaper wrote that the Netherlands could become the first country to transfer the F-16 to Ukraine.
