Cooperation between Russia and China is not directed against third parties and is not subject to their influence, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a briefing commenting on the visit of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to China.

“China has always developed normal trade and economic cooperation with all countries in the world, including Russia, on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. China has always opposed unilateral sanctions and extraterritorial jurisdictions that have no basis in international law and are not authorized by the Security Council (UN). Russian-Chinese cooperation is not directed against third parties and is not subject to their influence and coercion,” said she (quoted by RIA Novosti)

According to him, cooperation between the PRC and the Russian Federation is not antagonistic and is not aimed at any third party, and Moscow and Beijing “firmly oppose hegemony and oppose the new cold war.”

On the evening of May 22, Mishustin arrived on an official visit to China. Today, May 23, the prime minister spoke at the plenary session of the Russian-Chinese business forum in Shanghai, visited Sinopec Research Institute of Petrochemistry in Shanghai. As part of his official visit to China, Mishustin is also scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
