The SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched into orbit the Ovzon-3 communications satellite of the Swedish company Ovzon, which provides mobile satellite Internet access services. The successful launch was announced by the SpaceX press service on the X social network.
The launch took place from the launch complex at the US Space Force base at Cape Canaveral at 18:04 local time (02:04 Moscow time). The satellite weighs about 1.5 tons and was developed by the American company Maxar Technologies.
The device launched into orbit will provide Internet access to Ovzon customers on approximately a third of the earth’s surface. Ovzon’s clients include the US and UK ministries of defence, the UN, the Italian fire service and the Colombian government.
After launching the satellite into orbit, the Falcon 9 reusable stage, which has already been launched ten times, landed at a base in Florida.
