The American corporation SpaceX has successfully launched the second batch of 13 satellites as part of the Proliferated Warfighter program for the Space Development Agency (SDA, the structure of the US Space Forces). About it reported on the company’s website.

The launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle took place at 17:25 Moscow time from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This is already the 29th space launch from this site since the beginning of the year. The satellites will form part of a multi-layer low-Earth orbit network that will be used to provide military communications as well as missile warning.

How to be specified on the SDA website, the grouping will have 28 devices in total, of which eight will warn of a missile attack. Falcon 9 launched the satellites into orbit, where SDA will begin testing and verifying the functionality of the vehicles, after which the satellites will rise to their intended orbit of about 1000 km.

The first batch of satellites under this program was launched in April. The third and final constellation of four satellites is scheduled to launch later this year.
