The third test flight of the Starship ended in failure. At the final stage, contact with the ship was lost. It could have collapsed. SpaceX, which broadcast the entire flight, has already announced the loss of the ship.
It was previously reported that SpaceX launched the Starship Super Heavy spacecraft from a spaceport in Texas. This is the largest system ever created for space launches. Elon Musk stated earlier that they plan to use this ship for flights to the Moon and Mars.
The launch and the first phase went smoothly. After the first stage separated, the spacecraft entered orbit. During the passive flight phase, space center specialists monitored the operation of the equipment.
The trouble occurred when the ship was already returning to Earth. At 48 minutes, at an altitude of 75 km above the Earth, the signal with it was lost.
It was assumed that the ship was supposed to fall in a controlled manner in the Indian Ocean, but most likely it was destroyed.
At the same time, Elon Musk wrote on social network X: “Starship will make our lives interplanetary,” without commenting on the fate of the ship.
