In the restored Vysokogorsky Dormition-Nikolaevsky Churkinsky monastery in the village of Churkin, Volodarsky district, Astrakhan region, which was founded in 1568, several huge mysterious man-made cavities were discovered. The largest of them is the size of a Moscow metro station – 78 meters long and 10 meters high.

As reported by Radio Russia – Astrakhan. 14 man-made cavities were discovered at a depth of 12 meters during ground penetrating radar research. The head of the regional branch of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, Alexander Solovyov, spoke about this.

It is planned that excavations of these objects will begin in the near future with the participation of specialists from the Russian State University of Arts and Industry named after. Stroganov. It is possible that lost shrines are located inside.

At the same time, local residents recall legends that children who went down into the caves once disappeared in this place.
