Soyuz MS-23 returned to Earth – Kommersant

The Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft successfully landed in Kazakhstan. There were three cosmonauts on board the ship: Russians Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin and American Francisco Rubio. The crew arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) on September 21, 2022.
The ship landed in an area located 148 km southeast of the city of Zhezkazgan in Kazakhstan, at 17:17 local time (14:17 Moscow time). After the astronauts are evacuated from the apparatus, doctors will conduct an initial examination on site, determine the level of oxygen in the blood, blood pressure and provide first aid. The astronauts were delivered to the ISS by the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft on September 21, 2022. It was planned that the duration of the expedition’s flight would be 188 days and on March 28, 2023, the astronauts were supposed to return to Earth. However, on December 15, after a micrometeorite hit, the Soyuz cooling systems depressurized. The crew was forced to stay on the ISS for another six months and on March 28, Soyuz MS-22 landed in Kazakhstan without astronauts. To replace the ship sent “Soyuz MS-23”. On September 11, the crew of Soyuz MS-22 set a new record for the duration of a single flight to the ISS, having stayed at the station for over 355 days.
