The reconstruction of the South River Station in Moscow is 70% completed, Deputy Mayor for Transport Maxim Liksutov said. According to him, the station is scheduled to open by the summer of 2023.
Mr. Liksutov told reporters that all the main work has already been completed, and now external and internal decoration and laying of communications are being carried out. He clarified that they are completely changing the berthing infrastructure so that river vessels can receive electricity from the shore and “do not pollute the adjacent water area.”
“The work is going according to plan… By the summer of next year, the facility will be fully commissioned with the improvement of the adjacent territory, with the creation of convenient pedestrian links, with adjacent facilities, such as Dream Island, metro stations,” Maxim Liksutov listed (quote from RIA Novosti “).
Yuzhny River Station is one of two passenger river stations in Moscow. It is located in the Southern Administrative District in the Nagatinsky Zaton area on the left bank of the Nagatinskaya floodplain. Reconstruction ongoing from 2021.
