The South Korean authorities intend to tighten export controls on goods prohibited for export to Russia and Belarus. This was reported by the South Korean agency “Yonhap” with reference to the country’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The agency promised to pay special attention to monitoring “high-priority goods” that can be used for military purposes, including chips. South Korea will also inform its partners about the list of banned products to “prevent unauthorized exports due to lack of awareness,” the ministry added.
“It is necessary to accelerate the implementation of export controls in relations with relevant organizations, as there will be more attempts to evade export controls and pursue illegal shipments,” the department said in a statement.
Last week, South Korea added 682 items to the list of goods prohibited for delivery to the Russian Federation and Belarus. We are talking about goods “having actual or potential military use.” The total number of items on the list increased to 1159. The ban on the supply of cars to the Russian Federation was also tightened – now it applies to all cars with an engine of more than 2 liters.
Details – in the material “Kommersant” “Korean cars will not reach Russia”.
