The government approved new rules for the alienation of federal property

The government has approved a new procedure for preparing decisions on the alienation of federal property. As noted in release Cabinet of Ministers, the document was developed to create conditions for attracting investment, modernization and technological development of the economy.

In accordance with the document, the basis for decisions on the alienation of federal property may be instructions or decrees of the following officials: the president, the prime minister or his deputy, who coordinates the work of federal bodies on issues of managing state property.

The ready-made solution will also include the terms of alienation: the method and timing, as well as the procedure for determining the price. For transactions with investment conditions, target indicators for achieving such conditions, the procedure for monitoring their implementation, the form and frequency of reporting must be indicated.

In the summer of 2023, Russia adopted a procedure for the privatization of housing seized from corrupt officials. The law allowed the sale at auction of expensive real estate that entered the public housing stock after a corruption offense.

Previously, the prosecutor’s office achieved the transfer to the Russian Federation of all shares of one of the largest Russian car dealers of the Rolf group of companies. The basis for the seizure of securities was that Mr. Petrov, according to the prosecutor’s office, was engaged in business while being a State Duma deputy.
