Olga Kazakova, chairman of the RF State Duma committee on education, denied the discussion of the issue of exclusion of Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s work The Gulag Archipelago from the school curriculum.
Such a question “was not and is not worth it,” the head of the relevant committee noted. “It was not brought to the United Russia platform, nor to the faction of the party in parliament,” Kazakova stressed. Also, the issue of exclusion of this particular work of the writer was not discussed in the committee and “with the professional community.” The words of the parliamentarian were quoted in the press service of United Russia.
Kazakova at the same time confirmed that the novel by Alexander Fadeev “The Young Guard” was indeed returned to the school curriculum.
The media previously cited the words of deputy Dmitry Vyatkin, who admitted that the “Gulag Archipelago” could be excluded from the modern school curriculum.
