The calculation of the heavy flamethrower system “Solntsepek” struck at the accumulation of manpower of the armed formations of Ukraine near Artemivsk, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Georgy Minesashvili, head of the press center of the “South” group of troops.
As reported, the enemy was hit in the areas of settlements Andreevka, Kleshcheevka, Razdolovka.
There were also strikes, including with the use of aviation, in the Lisichansk, Soledar-Artemovsk, Aleksandro-Kalinovsk, Avdeevsk and Maryinsk directions.
Minesashvili said artillery hit M119, Msta-B and D-20 towed howitzers, as well as three 120mm mortars.
Earlier it was reported that the military personnel of the Russian Airborne Forces are stopping any attempts by Ukrainian armed forces to occupy the settlements adjacent to Artemovsk. Artemovsk (Ukrainian name Bakhmut) is a large city in the Donbass north of Donetsk. Passed under the control of Russia in May of this year.
