Sold the “cell” in a concrete box and moved to the village

The Stolpovsky family moved permanently from the city to a village with the historical name “9 January”, in the Orenburg region, last year. The location was not chosen by chance. Firstly, the city itself is just a stone’s throw away: only 5–7 km, and secondly, the new place is located very close to the native land of the owner of the family, Dmitry.

– My native village is Nizhnyaya Pavlovka. But it is difficult to settle there for permanent residence, because the journey to the city is much longer. But she is on the way to our village on January 9. I am only 33 years old – the age of Christ. I hope I can still work as productively. I work as an electric and gas welder. My main work activity takes place in the city. Therefore, proximity to it is of great importance,” says Dmitry. – And in the village we have excellent infrastructure. For example, there is a large swimming pool and a sports complex. I myself have been accustomed to the land and rural life from the cradle. Therefore, I like to fill my time with useful things. For example, work in the beds or in the garden. Although at first I had other plans: I bought an apartment in the city. I lived in it for a bit and realized: it’s not right! I could no longer stand the bustle of the city, the noise, the isolation from real life. I sold my “cell” in a concrete cage and last year bought a private house in the village. It was built by the developer according to a standard design.

– Did your wife support this decision?

– How supportive she was! She is now enjoying the move. He and his child will go out into the garden with a hot kettle and brew some tea. And they sit at a table under a tree, have tea and read fairy tales or draw something. It’s beauty. There are a lot of things you can do on the street. For example, when it’s still warm, you can work on blanks, sew, knit, saw, plan, and craft. And when it gets cold, we’ll “make summer” in the house. We installed gas last fall.

– Are you happy?

– Certainly. All gas processes were carried out effortlessly. Our building, with an area of more than 100 square meters, is one-story. When we bought the house, I met the neighbors. From them I learned that the process of additional gasification is in full swing in our area. I contacted my local gas service. And there they confirmed to me that there was an opportunity to take advantage of the social program, because both the house and the land had already been registered as property. In the documents, the category of land was listed as: for individual housing construction. It turned out that we, together with our neighbors, submitted a collective application to supply gas to three houses. By the way, when we overwintered with gas, I noticed that even in the months when frosts hit 40 degrees, we paid a maximum of 2800-3000 rubles on the meter. Now we have everything new: equipment, ball valves. The system is functioning normally.

The owner of the house does everything around the house himself

– How much did you spend on gasification?

– Turnkey it turned out to be about 300 thousand. From the border of the plot to the wall of the house we have almost 6 meters. But the cost depends not only on this parameter. Gas workers themselves lay out and calculate, in accordance with the square footage of the house, what appliances, meters, and their number are needed. The wishes of the owners are taken into account. For example, we have a wall-mounted 2-circuit boiler with a capacity of 24 kW. From it there are communications to hot water systems, heated floors, and batteries. To be honest, due to the nature of my work, I often crossed paths with the guys who are involved in social gasification. There are also a lot of welders there. They told me cases from their practice and explained the features of this process.

The client’s wishes come first

Dmitry Stolpovsky shared an interesting observation:

“I noticed that my colleagues, the guys who install gas pipelines under the social program, are very sociable and responsible people. They are happy to explain to the people the features of the post-gasification process. They answer absolutely any questions. They told how they pulled the pipe about half a kilometer to the house where a person applied for a social program. And how surprised the owner was when he found out that all this was completely free for him. After all, people used to pay 30 thousand for a technical connection alone. For example, the pipe is located five meters from the property line. And in order to join her, it was necessary to shell out tens of thousands. But now a person simply does not have such an expense item. The pipe is pulled to the property line free of charge, regardless of where it is pulled from. Moreover, 30 thousand was the minimum amount if the distance to the pipe did not exceed 50 meters. And if this distance was significantly greater, then the person was offered to pay an enormous amount for the technical connection. It could reach several million. Just imagine what a wonderful gift our native state gave us. True, not everyone appreciated this. There are also those who are dissatisfied and grumble. This always happens in life. My colleagues, for example, can do any job: build inter-settlement gas pipelines or install pipes inside the house, weld or cut pipes under pressure. They are not just professionals, but also know how to communicate with people. Because everything in our life revolves around a person. The only problem is people’s complaints about gas workers damaging their access roads. And this really happens often. Restoring the road surface turned out to be a big challenge for gas workers. I believe that the management of the gas organization should either enter into a contract with road builders to cover their costs, or form a structure themselves that would eliminate road “jambs.” After all, there are situations when gas workers have to open up frozen ground. After all, the task must be completed. But the heat comes, and people complain – the travel is ruined. And they are right – the gas workers are to blame. But it is not the employees who performed the work who are specifically to blame. And those managers who did not provide for the option of eliminating the consequences. After all, many people themselves donate to filling the passage, spending their own money. And it turns out that these investments are in vain if, after laying communications, the road again turns out to be impassable. People, of course, are outraged. They can be understood.

Dmitry also named the second typical problem that specialists encounter when installing gas communications inside a house.

– There are often situations when the owner of the house offers his own layout plan, for example, a kitchen, and the hostess insists on her version. Moreover, this happens when the team has already started working. And suddenly it turns out that the wife and husband did not come to a common opinion. The wife, for example, says: “I want the stove here!” And her husband answered: “It’s too expensive to pull the pipe too far!” Then you have to stop work and wait,” says Dmitry. “A friend told me how the couple argued, and they sat and waited for their squabble to be resolved. And time goes by. Moreover, in most cases, women offer better options than men. A friend of mine shared this observation. By the way, gas workers can only give advice, but the final decision on improvement inside must be made by the clients. Their wishes come first. Usually common sense still wins.

– Aren’t you afraid of increasing gas tariffs?

– I don’t think this will happen. Gas will remain the cheapest energy source in any case. Now I pay no more than 3 thousand for gas consumption in the coldest month. And if I had an electric boiler, the costs would at least triple.

– What parameters do you think gas consumption depends on?

– Firstly, on the quality of insulation of the house itself. Secondly, from the equipment itself. I’ve heard that using an old gas boiler also causes the meter to dangle. Its efficiency is low, all the heat goes into the pipe. There are other factors too. Each individual case needs to be examined. For example, I decided for myself that I would buy those materials and equipment that have proven themselves. That is, with increased reliability. That’s what I did in the end.
