Sociologist Boris Kagarlitsky (included in the register of foreign agents) was taken into custody in the courtroom after the decision of the Military Court of Appeal to toughen his punishment in the criminal case “for justifying terrorism.”
According to the court decision, the sociologist will be held “until the start of execution of the sentence in the Federal Penitentiary Center of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the city of Moscow.”
Previously, the court granted the request of the state prosecution and sentenced the sociologist to 5 years in prison instead of a fine.
